On the 18th of February the rector of the Dormition church in Beijing priest Sergiy Voronin took part in the grand opening of the cultural and business mission of Saint-Petersburg in Beijing. The ceremony took place in the Russian cultural centre in Beijing (RCC) and was attended by many guests, both Russian and Chinese. The presentation was opened with the speeches of Mr. U. A. Metelev, (head of a representative Russian cooperation in China), Mrs. I. A. Usenko (president of the “North Palmira” fund) Mr. A. L. Palgunov (representative of the Committee on the external links of Saint-Petersburg) and Mrs. T. N. Larina (deputy director of the Saint-Petersburg central showroom “Manesh” and a manager of the exhibition Modern Petersburg Art.)
For several days Beijing residents will have an opportunity to attend cultural and educational seminars, art exhibitions and round tables at the Russian Cultural Center. A tremendous evening of classical choreography titled Masterpieces of Russian Ballet will conclude the event.
